NEW YORK, NY — May 25, 2010 — FIX Flyer, provider of the world’s fastest FIX Engine, announces performance results using IBM technology.

FIX Flyer worked with partner IBM and leveraged their technical expertise in order to create the world’s fastest FIX Engine system. IBM provided FIX Flyer with hardware and network testing infrastructure at their Woltham, Massachusetts’s facility for a series of comprehensive performance benchmarks.

FIX Flyer performed all of the tests on IBM hardware and IBM WebSphere Products such as IBM’s Low Latency Messaging middleware (LLM). FIX Flyer tested with IBM’s HS22 blade servers, with two 2.93GHz Intel Xeon 5570 (Nehalem) quad core CPUs and using SUSE Linux. All tests are for roundtrip order message (around 100 bytes) and execution report acknowledgment, full persistence to disk, with 1 million messages sent at rates of sustained message rates of 5,000 messages per second, and using FIX Flyer’s socket API:

• Using the Sun JVM 1.6_14, roundtrip latency measured at 25.97 microseconds, with a standard deviation of 66.90 microseconds
• Using the IBM RT JVM, roundtrip latency measured at 50.99 microseconds with a standard deviation 17.66 microseconds
• The IBM JVM offers much more predictable performance but with acceptable additional latency

FIX Flyer also ran tests with their IBM LLM middleware adapter, making it easier to integrate FIX to high performance Order Management Systems architectures. Using IBMÕs LLM middleware adapter with the FIX Flyer Engine, latency was measured outbound at an average of 44.7 microseconds with a standard deviation of 15.72 microseconds and inbound at 33.18 microseconds with a standard deviation of 60.41 microseconds. FIX Flyer tuned the LLM adapter for making it easy to integrate and scale real world FIX trading systems including:

• Topics published by routing and message type tags, or user defined
• Supports wildcarding for routing and special tags such as Symbol, ContraBroker, etc.
• Familiar JMS–like interface easily fits into your world
• Covers both application and session level messages
• Supports all FIX versions
