CHARLES RIVER DEVELOPMENT LEVERAGES FLYER’S IGNITION FOR FIX TESTING
Ensures high–quality development and deployment of FIX–based applications
New York, New York — July 20, 2010 — FIX Flyer LLC, a leader in solutions for electronic trading, today announced that Charles River Development, a front– and middle–office investment software solutions provider, leverages Flyer’s Ignition to help automate and manage testing of the Charles River Investment Management System (Charles River IMS). FIX Flyer has released version 1.10 with new features such as an enhanced log playing, improved simulation, and easier support for repeating groups, especially useful for account allocations.
FIX Flyer’s Ignition allows software developers to catch defects and correct them earlier in the application lifecycle — providing users with confidence and reducing costs associated with the development and deployment of FIX protocol–based systems. FIX Flyer is especially useful for counterparty simulation and testing the increasingly complex functionality used in algorithmic trading and simulating brokers.
"We have a rigorous testing process that leverages both in–house and external testing venues to deliver performance, scalability and resilience improvements from one release to the next," said Domingo Gonzalez, Vice President of Engineering, Charles River Development. "Flyer’s Ignition is a valuable tool that helps us manage hundreds of complex test cases and automate regression testing and quality assurance for FIX based applications. "
Ignition’s point and click Graphical User Interface (GUI) makes it easy for Charles River to control the testing process by simplifying the creation and management of detailed trading scenarios. Charles River’s Quality Assurance team also analyzes the results of more than 500 tests with simple to read reports.
Ignition allows any firm on the leading edge of electronic trading to keep up to date with changes without increasing staff. "As electronic trading continues to expand and grow, institutional investors require the highest degrees of quality without the increased overhead," remarked Brian Ross, the CEO of FIX Flyer. "Ignition offers automated and independent testing to make the entire investment processing chain efficient. We are thrilled that Charles River Development continues to use Ignition as a crucial component for their FIX testing plans. "
